On the Up-Side...

Fired off "Half Pint" again to see if I could get it up to cone 6... Nope... didn't even drop cone 5, but all my glazed matured and look marvelous. The clay I'm using is a Laguna cone 5 clay and has a good ring to it, so I'm think'n it's probably vitrified. 34 pieces in and only 3 have a date with the "Hammer of Judgment".

The new chop for this summer's markets looks o.k. It's still a bit strange to see my work with a strange hallmark on it.

The BoneMarrow glaze combo is proving to be a new trusty favorite. We'll see how long that lasts though. I just mixed up a fresh batch of WhiteLiner glaze but had run out of Zarcopax I've been using to opacify my Clear glaze white. So I switched back to Tin Oxide as my opacifier. Glazes don't always play well together when I nonchalantly go mucking about.

I just looked at your post about the fish.
How heartbreaking you all must have been over the loss and the act its self.
Very sad.
I hope the boys find their way in life and change. They must have very sad lives to have done this.
I love your fish bowl.
What clay body do you use?
We tried your amber clay, but I think my clay body is too dark for it.
Hugs to you all.

Hey Meredith,
Your kind words quickly summed-up what took me 3 whole days think through and arrive at as well... Thank you.

Clay wise, I'm using a cone 5 Laguna Redstone and white cone 5 B-Mix slip.

Thanks again for the hugs.

that is an extremely sad and worrisome story about the koi... my friend has some that are only about 10 years old and they are pets in the truest sense of the word. i agree with meredith, there must be real sadness and despair at home. on another note... damn! damn, that bonemarrow glaze is so sweet... absolutely beautiful.
