My Obnoxious Habit

I've got to be a bit upfront here... this started last summer when I began taking the Suzuki program so I could help my daughter learn the violin. Well it turned out that this is the habit that I've I've been looking for to replace my old smoking habit... and it works great! I've replace one nervous habit with another. When I need a brake from a project, now I can stop and let my brain move sideways for a while.
So bare with me when I post these... anyone with kids taking violin, just grab what they've got, join in and fiddle around with me!

If you ever come to my shop for a visit, bring your fiddle. I've always got a guitar and mandolin hanging in my shop. We'll play Old Joe Clark and then some more.

I work and live with a guitar player- I only wish I could play as I watch him go to that other place!
When we had the fire it was the only thing that he went in after- the girls, his guitars.
Crazy man!

Very cool! I start Mckenna in the fall on violin and myself and her Dad thought it was very cool..tiny little violin. Sad to report, she got bored with it and moved back to dance. We are now trying piano!

hey joel, trying to catch up a bit. first, how old is the little one when she started violin lessons? the finished cannisters about 4 posts back are dreamy dreamy. and of course the post about joshua bell playing the violin in public and being largely ignored kinda blew me away. i'm horrified that this would happen and then not sure i would actually have the presence of mind myself to stop everything and just stand there all day. i like to think that i would but you never know.

Wait... didn't you say that you're originally from Iowa? That must be your roots showing through a little :)... lots of fiddle players around here, including my Dad, who has been fiddling since the 50's. :)

So you really do have a violin? We weren't sure that you had one. Great. Hang in there. M
