Spinning the Wheel

Aside from the amazing view of the Delta out the window of the train...

Aside from enjoying the wine and cheese tasting deep in the wine cask storage caverns of the Pine Ridge Winery...

Aside from the beautiful drive through the  Sonoma countryside...

Aside from the novelty of actually getting to get to go into San Francisco for an opening that has some of our work in it (yippee!!!)...

Aside from getting to thoughly enjoy getting to teach again, even if its just for a few hours...

Aside from all of that, it was nice just getting to do it all with this person...

Happy Birthday partner!

Sitt'n on the Wareboards

Gotta love Instagram
Come and find me at zygoteblum

Gregory Porter "Be Good"

I tripped over this sweet, sweet sad song that really pulled me in...
I've been humming it all week as I sit watching my kids and thinking.
It's a song that's found my gut...

Rising Water

I'm not dreaming about being the smartest person in a room.
I'm not trying to be the most popular person in the room.
I'm not even looking to be the most creative person in the room...
I'm just hoping to get invited into the room...

Heading to San Francisco Friday the night of the 18th for the Rising Waters exhibition in Jay Mercado's studio at 4754 California Street.

Its just a to play a support role, contributing cups to be part of a wall of cups behind the main exhibit.

Three classic FetishGhost teaware pieces. These are a steal at $35 each and 100% of the purchase price for each piece will be donated to Surfrider Foundation, a foundation dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our oceans.

It's a big new room.... I'm hoping to meet a lot of new familiar faces. Please come by and introduce yourself!

Recess Time

Spent yesterday walking back and fourth to court downtown. Accedently wandered through a redlight last month. Plead guilty... the fault was mine due to being lost looking for a tow yard that was holding my car that had been stolen earlier in the month.
The up-side of the day was a day of recesses to

spend on getting busy on the surfaces of 4 canisters. Im happy to say it took all day.

Black on black with a clay that is very finicky. It bloats... it cracks...it warps, but its black black black..

It's got enough character to hook me.
I don't know how it'll work out, but all of this is to test a specific process. I still need to smear and rub off a porcelain slip to pull the design up.

As long as I'm paying through the nose for a significant simple mistake (the fine was $329, down from $469) I'm totally cool with risking a few hours worth of work on a whim and hunch after getting whacked.
