Secret Studio Sale Part 1
I've been waiting to run a small sale to offer up a few loose thoughts at a fairly steep discount. These are odds and ends that went unlisted, got buried and forgotten on a studio shelf, or were taken out of the storefront for an event and not returned to the line-up.
I'm not much of a believer in seconds sales, but I'm not keen on smashing the odds and ends just to create space for new works either. (I'm still working on how to manage a reasonable storage system for finished works. Coping with a real inventory of a thousand pieces or more ain't happening while I'm still a city rat.)
So with the 2 year anniversary of opening both of my Etsy storefronts quickly coming up on the 20th of this month, I'm running 2 secret studio sales. RedGate's sale started last night and FetishGhost's... well we'll see.

Would you consider selling old/unsold pots for charity? Some pottery classes in my part of the world have an annual sale of all items not claimed by members (some left the class, others didn't want their earlier efforts once they got better, etc.) in aid of charity. The pots are priced from $5 for the smallest to about $25 for the bigger pieces and they always raise a nice little sum for the local orphans, hospital or old folks' homes. Your beautiful pieces should go like hot cakes and it would generate a lot of publicity for your own shop, too.
I'm a big believer in community activism, this year I donated over $4000 that I raised with my ceramics to helping fund community projects, local charities, buying art books for the community library, and art supplies for schools... I know for a fact it hasn't helped my local sales a bit, but luckily that isn't the point. Making a difference is the point.
I'm getting older, but I'm still an idealist...
Sorry I didn't know you were already so much involved in community/charity projects. I just thought it might be one way to generate publicity. Did you get any press releases for it?
