Red Horse Clay

Grabbing all the clays and kaolins I can find to push through testing for the soda wash recipe.
This one is Red Horse Clay.

Looks like a heavy layer of iron oxide, a nice metallic sheen.
I'd never heard of it before, but I like what it does.

Someday I will understand what all of this means. Tech & chemicals are a whole new bird, it's on my to do list that's for sure!!! It would be great to know your thoughts on the results...do you like it, do you not?

Have a great day!

Love the effect! Going to run more tests using the Red Horse Clay/ Soda Ash mix later this week, see if I can dial in this one in.

Have fun with your shift on Tuesday Yolanda. I love the whole idea of the International Virtual firing. The results are going to be fun to see come out of the kiln. I'm hoping you are planning on taking and sharing lot of pictures. (Hint, hint)
