Tempest

I knew this was going to be fun...

For this round, I'm playing along with using the plastic ends that are left over when I cut out billets of paper stencils.

Recent events have me  thinking uncomfortably about crows... really uncomfortably...

So I'm excising a few thoughts...

Add a few spriggs tomorrow.

OMG! these are absolutely stunning. I cannot wait to see these finished. I am so very fascinated by crows/ravens and the mysticism related to them.

wow joel, these are totally cool. i love crows and ravens and all things corvi... such a smart bird. you've peaked my curiosity as to why you're thinking of them "uncomfortably". i'm with elizabeth about the mysticism. if you ever get a hankerin', read the castaneda books as the crow figures heavily in the yacqui way. cool images regardless

I love the crows, Zyg. Reminds me of the work of my friend Ruth Bleakley, who works in paper and handmade books here in Falmouth. She's at http://www.ruthbleakley.com/blog/

Love the link Hollis, Thanks, gotta being handed a juicy blog to dive into on a rainy day.
Jim, the "bad feeling" I've been living with is centered around a recurring dream that started right before the earthquake and resulting disaster in Japan. Crow setting on a detritus of human carrion. It's not pretty and watching things play out is gut wrenching.
Wings of change I guess...

I think the crow addition is perfect. Adds another layer and more depth to your work. Crows and birds in general spook me. I have really weird connections to birds....
