Thanks, Zygote, for a great technique! I have seen this explained before, in an article, but can't remember where, I will post the link if I can find it, it may have more info.
you can use the same sort of foam to transfer silk screens onto clay! just use ball milled underglazes and slips that can fit through a(n) 80-300 mesh depending on how detailed it is.
Image transfer can be as simple as painting a tinted slip onto a piece of foam...

Brilliant! I've been trying to find a better way to use re-usable stencils on irregular shapes -- this could be just the ticket!
