Are you being too critical? I think you could still sell them, maybe point out what you think is wrong and offer a discount. Get out the dremel tool :)
LOVE that cup and the jars are just spectacular!!!! BTW, I finally got a chance to sit and watch the interview on your last post, what a treat, isn't she great?!Tracey Broomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14560971496423789576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7015866180891664441.post-1400817873107036512011-10-26T06:01:06.672-07:002011-10-26T06:01:06.672-07:00Hey Carter,I think most of the problem is my speci...Hey Carter,I think most of the problem is my specific gravity of the glaze. If it's just a touch off, it does lots of unpredictable things. That's part of the reason I love using this glaze, you just never know what you are going to see when you open the kiln. I'm almost reluctant to get it dialed in because then I wouldn't get to see things like these. Instead they'd be sellable.
I'm expecting that they will blister and get much worse in the refire, I got a few Doc Frank experiments to tryout though...FetishGhosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06139502682128929276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7015866180891664441.post-19750375484742919322011-10-26T05:46:15.022-07:002011-10-26T05:46:15.022-07:00Yikes! ...Yikes! But they sure are beautiful to look at....

Any speculation on what went wrong? Do you think refiring will only make it worse? One of the details that I absolutely love in the cup that came out perfect is that the slip design lines are followed by the crawl pattern. This doesn't seem to happen as consistently on all the other work. Any idea what the difference was?

Good luck! I hope you get it figured out. And they really are marvelous to look at. Maybe the glaze issue isn't as catastrophic for the jars? Judicious sanding?carter gillieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12744265678233135968noreply@blogger.com
